Thai Verb to be

There are 3 Verb to be - pben, yuu and khuu  เป็น อยู่ คือ 

1.verb to be"bpen" เป็น  which means (subject) to be something/someone - Subject's status or relationship 

For example: chán bpen kon Thai  - I am Thai.  - ฉันเป็นคนไทย

2. .verb to be "yùu" อยู่ which means (subject) to be somewhere "yuu + place or location"

 For example: pîi-chaai kɔɔng chán yùu tîi bprà-teet Thai  -  My older brother live in Thailand.- พี่ชายของฉันอยู่ที่ประเทศไทย

3. verb to be "khuu" คือ which means (subject)  to be + meaning / definition / example /Compare - Part of Speech (not real)

 For example - Khun khuu naang faa - You are an angle คุณคือนางฟ้า ( compare - not real / if real use bpen)

Personal Pronouns

The general forms pêe and nóng are used as personal pronouns and are also used as titles before someone's name, though the way they are used is somewhat different.
Thais speaking English may translate pêe and nóng as "brother" or "sister" regardless of the actual relationship, so be aware that someone introduced as a "brother" for instance may in reality not be a genuine brother, but perhaps a cousin, a friend or even boyfriend or husband.
